An Understated Dominance Chapter 1084 by Marina Vittori

“Mr. Caden, are you threatening me?” Dustin’s smile disappeared after hearing those harsh words. From the start, he had been displeased with Caden. He disliked that he was untrustworthy and never stayed faithful to his promises.

“It’s a warning if you heed my advice; It’s a threat if you don’t,” Caden admitted without reservations. “Let me repeat myself. Sheila and I are just friends; I’ve never had ulterior motives.

“It’s best that we don’t interfere in each other’s business,” Dustin stated calmly. “Brat, it seems like you still don’t get it.

“Caden’s expression was frosty. “What makes an utterly worthless character like you think that you are worthy of being friends with my daughter? Please take a look in the mirror and have a clear look at yourself.

“The Murray family is not a place for opportunistic freeloaders like yourself.”

What was once a threat had now turned into a blatant insult. “Caden Murray. Don’t be so full of yourself. You better drop your cocky attitude.” Dustin returned the sentiment.

“Hmph! You have quite the attitude for someone of your level. Do you think I can’t deal with someone like you?” An icy glint flashed through Caden’s eyes.

“You better not try anything unless you want trouble for yourself,” Dustin warned. While it wasn’t in his nature to provoke others, he would respond the same when provoked.

“You brat! No one has ever talked to me that way! Since you are so ungrateful, don’t regret when I take action!”

Caden bellowed with a grim expression, “Men, this young man harmed Roxanne and caused her to be hospitalized. The evidence is clear; seize him!”

As soon as he spoke, the armed guards standing by the door surrounded Dustin in no time. “You’re going to accuse me falsely?” Dustin frowned.

“I I gave you a chance. But you didn’t appreciate it. It’s too late now!” Caden smirked. Seeing the approaching guards, Dustin waved his hand, and silver needles shot out..

Following the sound of sharp whistles, the guards were left frozen to their spots. It was like they were petrified. “Oh?” Caden was surprised by the turn of events. “You’ve got some skills. No wonder you’re so arrogant. But it’s a pity that I’m your opponent today!”

With that, he suddenly moved, reaching out to grab Dustin. His fingers were just like iron that emanated a black glow. It was laced with deadly poison. When he extended his claw-like fingers, it was surrounded by a swirl of dark energy and carried a chilling coldness.

“What?” Dustin’s eyes widened. As he dodged, he exclaimed, “Wait! Are you practicing the Soul Devouring Technique?”

“What about it? You’re scared already?

Caden sneered.

“And I thought you had skills. You’re just a loser who bullies the weak and fears the strong!”

“For Sheila’s sake, I don’t wish to hurt you. The Soul Devouring Technique is a dark art. It not only harms you, but also the people around you.

“You’d better stop practicing it. Otherwise, you’ll die a terrible death once you go to extremes!” Dustin warned seriously.

He didn’t notice it earlier. But upon closer inspection, he can now see Caden enveloped by a deathly air. He was on the brink of death with his energy in severe imbalance.

Within three to five days, the side effects of the Soul Devouring Technique would appear. By then, there would be unimaginable consequences.

“Do you think I will believe in your nonsense? You’re just a coward spouting nonsense after realizing you can’t win!” Caden said dismissively. His cultivation had rapidly improved since he started practicing the Soul Devouring Technique, and he was now a semi-grandmaster.

No one could match his strength within the Murray family other than the eccentric old man who rarely showed himself. He was drunk on the power that he felt.

“Although the Soul Devouring Technique is powerful, it has severe side effects. This dark art drains your life force.

“If I guessed right, you have been experiencing nightmares and waking up sweaty. You feel chills running down your spine, and you are unusually thirsty in the middle of the night.

“The point is, your thirst can only be quenched by blood. The more you train in this art, the greater your bloodlust!” Dustin said darkly.

Caden was taken aback and in shock. ” How did you know that?” He never told anyone he was drinking blood. How did Dustin find out?

“Don’t forget, I’m a doctor. I saved your daughter from her strange illness.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
